I went to the range today and used Wolf ammo in my Ruger P97. After only 100 rounds my gun looked like it fired 1000 rounds! This has got to be the dirtiest ammo I have ever fired.
Steel cased ammo categorically "shoots dirty" because steel isn't as ductile as brass and therefore does not provide as tight of a gas seal. More combustion byproducts escape around the case and vent into the breech area.

Don’t try Tulammo, it’s even worse. But, I shoot a lot of both. Wolf in my Beretta 92FS is surprisingly accurate. I can live with dirty ammo for the price.
I shoot Wolf almost exclusively and don't have any issues. Sure my rifle is dirty afterwards, but I clean my rifle every time I go out to the range, so it doesn't really bother me.
If you're the type that doesn't clean your firearms often, well...that's a different story all together.
I clean my guns after shooting, without fail, that is how I noticed how dirty the pistol was after firing only 100 rounds. Maybe it is a good tradeoff for the price, but it still surprised me. One of the many things I do like about my old Ruger P97 is that it will shoot any 45acp that I put into it, without fail.
I agree. Wolf & Tula leaves burnt powder residue, I have never found signs of unburnt powder in any weapon I have fired using this ammo which is IMHO is far worse.
I find this ammo is great plinking fodder and would never hunt with it. Of the several ranges I visit, The grounds are littered with tens of thousands of Wolf & Tula steel cases. Testimony to the popularity of this stuff.
It's Russian. It's made from recycled tires and hogs. Just like European cigarettes. Once you take up reloading with high quality components you will not believe how terrible most factory ammo really is. Considering the future social climate reloading makes even more sense. You think it's hard to find and overpriced now? Just wait. Start saving for a reloading setup, even a simple single stage press.
