WMR in a 12 shot 22 Uberti

Has anyone modified their cylinder or a spare cylinder to chamber WMR? It would give this firearm a little more power for applications other then plinking. It looks like it would still allow enough metal between each round to allow this to work. Personally, I use CB shorts in mine to plink in the back yard without upsetting the neighbors but would be interested in seeing if this is a mod that can be done or not.

cant be done. two really big reasons.

cylinder cant take the pressure. and barrel is wrong size. youd be trying to push the equivalent of a 9mm+p load through a .32acp.

Just though if something as cheap as a Heritage Rough Rider could do it so could the higher quality Uberti. Thanks for putting me straight.

One big reason for not re-chambering a .22 LR to .22 WMR is not the pressures involved or the small difference in bullet diameter. It is that many barrels made for .22 LR are of soft steel that will not retain rifling very long when subjected to the high velocity and jacketed bullets of the .22 WMR.

I spoke with Uberti today in regard to some spare parts I want to have on hand. Had a conversation in regard to them making a WMR version available. They said it is something they are looking into. Would be nice but if the other posts here are correct, it won't be something that would retrofit.
