Anybody have any info as to where I could get some checkered wood grips for a full size Witness 45? I checked with Ajax, Eagle, Hogue etc and they have none available. Thanks for your replies.

plateshooter,

I also have the witness .45/full size. I also made an exhaustive search for wood grips. Currently, the only grips that are guaranteed to fit your pistol are the ones from EAA. I haven't had the opportunity to buy them yet, but they are walnut and look pretty good(not as sharp as coco bolo though).

Thanks for the tips guys, I called EAA after they gave me an 800 number in response to my Email to them. They want $50.00 plus $7.50 shipping. Seems a bit steep to me. I think I will stay with the rubber grips until Hogue or someone else comes out with a grip to fit. I would think the CZ97, and the Springfield P9 would use the same grip.

Remember the 45ACP (and shared with the 38 Super) is the 'large-frame', different than the 9mm/40 platform (like a CZ/TZ75/P9).

I've got full-checkered Rosewood (or something) from Navidrex (Brownell's or? Denny's) but they needed some fitting.

Nice.

Yep, the larger frame is the problem. Plenty of grips available for the 9mm frame. I figure it shouldn't be too long before the big grip folks come out with something.
