It's T minus 1 week and I've got a decision to make: Remington 870 Wingmaster or 11-87 Premier? It'll be used mostly for shooting clays, maybe some pheasant. If I buy the 870, will I wish that I had a semi-auto? Will I have problems with doubles when using a pump? I'll try a pump this weekend and that should help, but I'm looking for some experienced insight. Thanks.

If the price difference isn't an issue, go for the 11-87. It's a lot softer shooting gun for long sessions, the speed of operation is not that big a deal between the two but the felt recoil differences might be. The gas gun spreads out the recoil over a longer period so it doesn't punch as much all at once. And look for one with a new R3 recoil pad while you're at it, or consider having one put on.

Have fun with it,

Thanks.

The overwhelming response for the 11-87 helped me decide and I made the purchase today, my first gun!
