Winchester SX2 / FN recoil spring ??

I have a Win SX2 with the light load gas piston in it. When it is fully loaded and with the sidesaddle full, it will "short stroke" if I am using regular target loads. It runs like a top as long as I use hotter loads such as Rem Nitro 27s. It will also have this same problem if the gun is not held against the shoulder. Has anyone tried shortening the main recoil spring to make it easier to cycle with lighter loads ? Thanks

Do not shorten springs, it will lead to other problems.
If your gas-operated semi-auto is short-cycling, clean the gas system and lube.

It is lubed and as clean as it can be. I know there is a shop in Idaho that that works on the recoil spring system on these shotguns to enable them to cycle perfectly with light target loads. I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck with lightening just the spring without doing anything else.
