Winchester stainless marine shotgun what's it worth?

Hello all,
I could use some help. A local shop near me has one of these used and for sale. It has a very shiny look to it almost like chrome on the receiver, barrel, and mag tube. The stock and fore grip are made of wood, and it has refiled gun sights. On the barrel it has Winchester Stainless Marine 12GA. 2 3/4" & 3" stamped on it and the barrel length is 18.5". The gun over all looks brand new, one of the shop employes I talked to said the guy that traded said it only had a few shells shot through it and it looks like it, as I said it's in very good condition. I've been doing a lot of reading up on this shotgun and it seems to have been made in a very limited number and the ones I've seen for sale and have sold have a hefty price tag on them. Is this gun that rare and is it worth looking into purchasing? The shop wants $600.00 for it out the door, there's no box or paperwork with it.

I've been looking for a short barreled shotgun to keep by my bed, I keep telling myself I don't need this one but goodness it sure is purdy. Thank you.

I've seen these go anywhere from 299.99- 425.00 On the very high side both in AZ & CO. I have the 500A Persuader tactical (M4 Style) and its the same model except for the marine coating and M4 style stock. Im ptetty sure the mariner version is a pistol grip. They are great and I love the dual extractors they have as compared to the rem 870 which has nothing but singles.

In that condition I say get it. It's a real Marine (not the coastal with black reciever) and has real wood. There are two used Marine's on Gun Broker now starting at $700(pistol grip) and $849.

Thanks for the replys all. I think leaning towards going ahead and purchasing it, I feel like I'm going to end up kicking myself in the long run if I let it go. I've never seen one before and it'll be nice to add to my collection. Thanks once again.

I am not an expert on these, but I do know Winchester, Mossberg, and Remington have all made marine versions. The Winchester is thought the least of (it is not a Model 12). There were some based on the 120,0 which have a bad reputation, and some off the 1300 I am told, and those are some better. The Remingtons and Mossbergs are solid. There have also been stainless and plated guns, and the stainless guns are worth a LOT more than the plated ones. I would do a little more research.

I have the marine coastal version with the black receiver. It came with a pistol grip stock and fore end. I paid $300. That sounds like a good deal.
