I just bought a 20 ga Model 120 Ranger. I was wondering if anyone had a "Dates of Manufacture" book and could look up the statistics on my gun. My serial number is L1776681. Any info is appreciated.

These shotguns were only made for a couple of years in 1986 and 1987 as entry level shotguns. They are exactly like a Model 1200 and a Model 1300 shotgun. They were made in 12, 16 and 20 ga. models. They were also avalible in ladies and youth model if you ordered one.I purchased mine in early 1986 for just over $200.00 with both a 28 inch vent ribbed barrel and a 22 inch rifle sighted Buck and Tom Barrel. There was only 20,000 ever made so I'm guessing from the numbers yours it was made in late 1986 or early 1987. Because they were a limited production not much information was retained by Winchester on these shotguns. You can call Winchesters 1-800 line and most of the techs don't seem to know much about them or they were made before they came along. The Manual that came with mine was for a 120 /ranger and the 1200 and 1300 models. All parts from the other two shotguns will fit except barrels from a 1200 only fit a 1200 model. I own one of the Model 120 20 gauge youth models that my dad bought new for me when I was a kid, it was the first gun that was actually "mine".
I have an 870 12 ga wingmaster I use as my main shotgun now, but want to shoot the 20 gauge again. Mostly I want to use it for upland game since it weighs next to nothing (for a shotgun). Also, I want to have a loaner shotgun available and this would nicely fit the bill if converted to an adult stock.
I have been looking and looking for an adult length stock for it without much success. Any suggestions there?

However, because it is a store brand name, the value will be 15 to 20% less than if it had been labeled Winchester. The store brands were considered a cheapen down version of the original.I have...

JAXX; I have a vent rib bird barrel (MOD CHOKE) for that shotgun. If you want to buy it, $60 will do plus shipping. PM me if you do. CB.
You know, the gun was given to me by a close friend about 10 years ago. It came with a smooth barrel with the rifle sights on it AND 3 chokes. Very wierd because the chokes don't fit that barrel. Makes me believe the gun originally came with 2 barrels and he only had the one. Anyway, Crowbeaner, will that barrel accept the screw in chokes?

Nope. It's a fixed mod. choke with 2 beads, front and middle. Marked Winchester 120 2 3/4 and 3 inch.
Value of these guns?
I read somewhere that due to the 20 gauge being rare it was worth more?

It has "Ducks Unlimited Whistler" engraved. Obviously, it was won at a DU dinner, in 1993. It has never been fired, in perfect condition.
Anyone with better knowledge care to ballpark a value on this? Someone had mentioned $1800-2200 and I found that hard to believe. I was just suprised to hear anything like that since I just figured it was the little ol shotgun I won when I was a kid, and wouldn't be worth much.
Anyone care to take a stab?

I have a 20 ga. 120 that my dad bought at Wally-World back in the 80's. I saved my money and bought a used wingmaster even though it cost more. The 120 strikes me as being a decent gun for most purposes but the fit and finish isn't great, the wood is cheap, mine has a fixed choke and the action seems stiffer than my 870.
Just because it's rare doesn't mean that it's valuable. I think they're rare because nobody wanted them and Winchester (wisely) stopped making them. If you can get $200 for yours, I think you've done well.

Winchester Model 120 Stock
I have an original hardwood stock and corn cob style fore grip that I bought years ago as a spare set. They are in very nice condition no cracks and very few marks. I have had them in my closet since I bought them. The full size stock even has the Winchester pad on it and there is a bolt inside for puting it on. If interested contact me at zmopar1@aol.com

I'm looking for a barrel that i can shoot deer slugs with. It's for a my winchester model 120 / 20 gauge pump. Perhaps someone here knows of one or what may fit this gun.
