Winchester Model 94 Packer in .44 Magnum Questions

Howdy, my cousin has a great Winchester Model 94 Packer in .44 magnum he is looking to sell. My question is first what is the rate of twist in this gun and second does it handle 300 gr bullets well? I have heard that most have a rate of twist of 1/38 that makes the big grain bullets hard to use in these guns. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the exact data on this rifle that is about 10 years old and in great shape for $300. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks bighoss, just trying to learn something about the operations of this gun and what works in it. According to Paco Kelly, large bullets are no problem in the Winchester Model 94, but yes, it is a great price for a very good weapon in excellent condition with very few life time rounds through it. Since it is my wife's cousin, I essentially have first dibs on it.

yeah I read that the marlins had issues with 300grn and up but I couldn't find anything on the winchester.

Looks like I am hitting pay dirt after quite a long search. This article states that the optimal load for .44 magnum handguns and rifles is in the range of 300-330 and not more than that. I should be fine with the BB 305's.
