Winchester Model 70 bolt removal

I'm cleaning my newly purchased Winchester Model 70 for the first time and need to know the right way to slide the bolt out. This rifle is really nice and is a 1969 300 Win Mag. I'm really happy with it so far!:)
 
Model 70 Bolt Removal

Mine is a 1954 Mod. 70, 30.06. There is a small button on the left rear of the receiver. Cock the bolt, push in and hold the button and pull the bolt completely out. That's how it works with mine. After 1964, I'm not so sure. Bill
 
By the way fellow Oregonian you can also field strip the bolt to clean and examine the firing mechanism with that fine rifle. Its a piece of cake and helps to separate the wins from the pack.
 
I just ordered up a manual for this rifle just for that reason but that's good to know. The more time I spend with this rifle, the more I like it and it fit's me so well it's scary.;)
