Winchester Model 320 "Micrometer Sights"

The Smithy,
I have a really nice Winchester Model 320 .22 bolt-action rifle. This Model was sold by Winchester during the early to mid-70s. I believe the action was designed by what would later be known as Kimber. In James House's book about .22s he really praised the 320 on its accuracy. I've noticed on the rear, left side of the receiver that this Model was factory drilled and tapped for what Winchester advertised as "micrometer sights". Has anyone any idea about which type of receiver sight can be used with this Model 320? I'm assuming it's a receiver peep sight, but I don't know which one will fit or where one could be bought. I've emailed several receiver sight companies and they haven't a clue as to which sight to use. Thanks, and I appreciate your help::)

The Model 310 and 320 were only offered for 4 years (1972-1975). The proper micrometer sight was likely a Redfield or Lyman.

Canuk Maybe ?

I'd google Lyman and Williams Gunsite Co. . Redfield is long gone . Was that a Canadian made gun ? I think the three digit models were made in Canada at that point in time . I have a Mod. 490 thats Canadian made , from the same time frame ( 70 - 75 ) .

Quite Possibly...

I'm fairly certain these two Models, or at least, their actions, were from SportCo in Australia. I've emailed SportCo in the past, but with no luck. Yes, these Models weren't around too long and there weren't that many made. The 94/22 was the big news then and the bolt-actions were not that popular, or at least, that's the way I remember those times. I'll try to get some info from Redfield. I've tried Lyman with no results. I'm in Afghanistan right now and contacting anything or anybody in the States is hit or miss at the best. I'm still of a mind that surely some owners of one of these two Models during the 1970s may have purchased the then advertised "micrometer" sights and know the exact model, etc. Anyhow, guys, I value your info and your help.

Lyman lists a model that they say fits most 22 rifles.it is

90 MJT it is a target type sight and list price is $94.95

I don't know what origionally came with your rifle but this is the only reciever sight that I saw on the Lyman web page for 22's.

Lyman 90 MJT

Yes, Charles, I emailed Lyman about their Lyman 90 MJT to see if it would be the proper sight for the Winchester 320. I have a feeling that it could be. I think that many owners of the 320 either left them as they were or mounted a scope on them. I've always enjoyed receiver sights, and since this one was already drilled and tapped......Thanks for the info

And the answer is Lyman 57ES

I emailed Lyman about the possibility of them having made a receiver sight for the Model 320. I got a email from Lyman today stating that yes, they did at one time make a receiver sight for the 320, but no longer did. Now that I have the make and model number.....well, hopefully, the rest will be easy. Thanks to all for their input and info.....
