Winchester Model 24; length?

I have an old Win Model 24 side-by-side, purchased new by my grandpa "sometime right after WWII" (serial number says 1949). At some point (I'd guess the '50's) it was cut down, both the stock and the barrel. I believe it was shortened for my uncle when he was a boy, and is fairly short. It shoots pretty good today (kicks like a @#$%$#), but I'm wondering if there are length restrictions for old (or new for that matter) shotguns? Its actually the only shotgun I own, and does get used for bird hunting on the rare occassion, and is visible in my house. I hate to lose the gun over my own ignorance. Any information greatly appreciated.

Barrels have to be at least 18", measured from the breech face to the muzzle and O/A length has to be at least 27", IIRC.

That's Fed rules, local law may be different.

Thanks Dave, looks like I'm safe then. It feels so small, I had myself worried, but it fits into those parameters.
