Winchester model 1895...

I recently bought of those new edition 1895's in .270 and found the accuracy to be terrible. It sprayed shots all over the target and I was lucky if I could put 5 shots in a 1 foot circle at 100 yds. My Winchester 94 shoots alot better than this! Could it be the ammo or what?

I have a 375 Scoville currently that was rebored from a 3006 Browning '95. Same Japanese maker as the Winchester rifles I have had 3 3006s Brownings and all have shoot less than 2" with irons at 100yds. One was exceptional. All with factory Remington ammo. Now I shoot nothing but reloads.

Try a heavy bullet in 270 and see if that helps. Start at 25yds and then 50yds' and see how those groups are.
