Admittedly not a book of values, per se, as his prices are what he's asking and not necessarily what they've sold for, but you might check www.merzantiques.com for a gross ballpark. Also some of the sales sites like www.gunbroker.com (and look under completed sales), but for someything as old as yours also www.gunsinterntional.com or auction sites like Rock Island.

You need to find out more about you rifle. the Winchester m 1873 was made in 3 configurations rifle, carbine, and musket. Then there is 3 different models , 1st., 2nd., 3rd. with an variation in the first model adding a early and late type first model. There was around 720,610 of these made in .32-20, .38-40, and .44-40 calibers. Winchester also manufactured 19,552 model 1873's in .22 rimfire. On top of that there are 136 of them marked as 1 of 1000 and 8 marked as 1 of 100, these bring a very high premium price. So you take an average good condition 1873 from each of the above models and variations you get a price spread from $600-32,000.00. With old original Winchesters you need to know exactly what it is and what condition it is to get a fair price. It might be a good idea to get a winchester expert to help you. I found out the hard way about old winchesters, it is worth the work to get it right.
