...as a lover of vintage guns I bought a mint model 12 riot a couple months back....what difference is there in the cycling of the gun as compared with the 97?....I always liked the 97's profile....'spensive though and I am somewhat poor....still a slickety looking shotgun.
 
You have one of the best fighting shotguns ever conceived.

I found the 12s smoother than the one 97 I shot extensively.

Congrats, now go shoot the heck out of it....
