Winchester/FN Super X 2

Shooters: I would like to hear any comments from users of Winchester's Super X semi auto 12 gauge with synthetic stock, especially the Practical model with ghost ring sights and mag extension, 22 inch barrel. Tell me about function, problems encountered etc. I really think I need one of these.

Jerry,

Because of favorable reviews, I too was interested in the SX-2
Practical. Unfortunately, I was told by a rep. of Winchester that
they only made a small number of Practicals at the time and
several people have been on a waiting list for over six months.
That kind of soured me on it. This was about a month ago, so
double check, the situation may have changed.

I have the Win Camp Defender wit 22" barrel and notch/post sights.

I love it but good luck finding a tac sling for it. If it ain't a Moss, Benn, or Rem they don't make it.

Thanks guys. I may consider a regular hunting model Super X2. I was mainly interested in any problems anybody has heard about such as Remingtons troubles with the 11-87. Thanks again.

Winchester SX2

Hello All,

I have been lucky enough to become an owner of an SX2. All articles that I have read about are true. This is everything that it came with from the factory:

1. 22" barrel
2. picantinny rail
3. factory installed 8 round tube
4. fiber optic front sight
5. adjustable rear sight (SX2's coming out sometime this year will have the ghost ring)
6. invector chokes
7. hard red winchester lockable case
8. reduce recoil stock

We brought our shotguns out last week. These things are fast shooting 2 3/4 inch 00 buck 9 pellet shots. Recoil was very light. Follow up shots were easy. It is still new, reliablity hasn't been an issue. After breaking it down for it's first cleaning everything is heavy duty. In the last Guns and Weapons for Law Enforement the SX2 is nest in line for SWAT.

Johnny: I stopped in a store and handled a regular Mag Super X2 today. Very nice feeling. I couldn't see much of the internals, but I'm glad to hear they're heavy duty. Now can you expand on your reference to the Super X2 to be next in line? Do you mean that next time they replace their shotguns or next to what? Thanks in advance for any further comments.

Jerry - What I meant was in the last issue of Guns and Weapons for Law Enforcement. They have an article in every issue called new for Swat. It has a very brief article about the SX2 and also says to stay tuned for more information in the upcoming issue. I would have responded sooner but I haven't been able to find my magazine so I could give you the Month of that issue. It is in the latest issue of Guns and Weapons.
