Winchester Ammo

Has anyone seen what I was told is a new Winchester ammo:

Winchester Bonded PDX1 in a 180 gr. .40 S&W? Any reports on it. Supposed to be the newest, hottest thing. Decent price, too. $25/25.

I've seen it on the shelf. Seems kinda pricey, but based on my experience with all kinds of other Winchester ammo, I'm sure it's good stuff.

I have put 100 rounds of the 165gr through my M&Pc. No malfunctions of any kind. I did not shoot it as well as hydrashock, but it is probably me and not the ammo. Its good stuff as far as i'm concerned.

i shoot them in my hk uspc .40 and have had zero probs with them and i pay $21 for a box at walmart, and walmart always has them in stock

Ouch! I'm sure it's not much cheaper for 9mm.

Yea. I've had to switch to Speer Gold Dots in my .40. I like the Corbon DPX, but I can't afford to practice with $35/20 ammo and I won't carry it if I can't practice with it.

PDX1 is a great loading, but as said, a little pricey. It is however the same bullet found in Winchester's Ranger Bonded line, and they are alot cheaper with 50 rounds than the 20 round civilian packs.

I have shot a few into water, and one time I didnt make sure that I had enough water jugs, and it ended up going through all three jugs and a piece of 1/2" plywood and the bullet was never recovered... That time... LOL

But I stepped up the jugs and backer, and honestly it looks like a Gold Dot when expanded. Penetration is great and expansion is about average, right around .670" for the 40 S&W 180 gr load. Ranger T-series usually run around .800"+ and Federal HST run around .850"+ but dont penetrate as much as the PDX1 load.

man, over a dollar a round for non exotic handgun ammo. I seem to remember it was not really long ago that .50BMG was a dollar a round.
