Winchester ‘94 - Snap Cap Jammed

I just acquired this rifle, it’s a 1949 production year. I tried to test it with a few snap caps, and the very first one locked the action up. There’s still a snap cap in the magazine tube, and the one in the photo is wedged in the action to where I can’t move it at all. I know very little about these rifles, and figure I may need to take it to a gunsmith, but thought I’d ask here.

good luck and a question

Can't add any real help, just hoping for the best for you. A vintage M94 would be good buy in my book. But.........those don't really look like 30-30 snap caps to me?????????

They are 30-30 snap caps. I got it unstuck by tapping it back and downward, closed the bolt over top of it, and backed it out through the loading gate. I tried to load a live round and got the same result, had to remove it the same way. For whatever reason, the opening on the inside of the receiver that the case is supposed to feed through is narrower than the rim of the case, preventing it from feeding.
