Winchester 94 AE ejector Question - DOB 1985

Just purchased a Win 94 AE serial #534xxxxx which I believe the year built was 1985 . Anyway, I noticed a space, opening, or recess at the chamber end of the barrel surface at about 2:00 position that the ejector "hook" goes into allowing the "hook" part of the ejector to grab the end of the cartridge. It does not look like a smooth opening inside, although at the very outside of the surface you can tell it was a machined opening. The inside of the opening ( where the ejector tip is inserted ) looks a bit jagged looking. It looks like at one time it might have been drilled? but now it is a bit elongated jagged looking ( I assume which might be due to age and/or use ). Is this anything to be concerned about? Worst scenario - is it possible the integrity of this part of the barrel is in question? I thank you for your time and expert knowledge and hoping you can understand what I have stated. Many thanks, Wildbill22

Thanks for the reply. I had thought I had cleaned the rifle well but I missed the so called jagged recessed hole that the tip of the ejector goes into. I should have checked the obvious first and cleaned the small pocket type hole. All it needed was a good pick'n & brushing. All is well and look'n good - no worries it is intentionally machined to accommodate the tip of the ejector. Sorry you had to take time to figure out what I was stating.
