Hi,

I'm having trouble removing the fore stock of a Winchester 73.
I'ved removed the front cap, but the wood will nor move foreward enough so the rear of the forestock will clear the lip on the receiver. The rifle is 119 years old so I don't want to damage it . Is there a trick to this?
Thanks,
Jerry

If this is a '73 RIFLE, you gently pull the forearm downward away from the barrel, and wiggle it forward, then downward again and wiggle, until it comes off.

Don't pull to far down until it starts to loosen up.
