Winchester 7.62mm Tokarev Ammunition

Winchester Ammunition is introducing a new line of "metric" calibers ammunition. One of the first cartridges in the group is 7.62 X 25mm Tokarev. The cartridges are loaded with a 85 grain FMJ bulletwith an announced muzzle velocity of 1,647 fps from a 4 3/4 inch barrel which gives a muzzle energy of 514 foot pounds. This sounds too hot for use in 7.62mm Mauser pistols, but it should be an excellent round for CZ52s ad Tokarev pistols. Now, if they will just bring out a hollow point load with the same performance!

What other cartridges are going to be in the line up? Anything unusual?

Where can I find Winchester ammo when it comes out. I currently use the SuperX in my SKS for deer hunting and it groups very well. Noone in my area is familiar with the comblock firearms. I made the mistake of going to a local gunshop in search of 9x18 Makarov ammo. The kid behind the counter was mounting a scope and talking about a deer he missed at 30 yards with a 300 magnum. He proceeded to tell me that I got screwed by buying a Makarov, they are dangerous to shoot, and that I will never find 9x18 ammo and if I do it will be $30.00 a box. Are there any suppliers on the web who handle the Winchester ammo?

I thought the Tokarov was 7.65mm.
