Winchester 1897 Takedown Adjustment

Hi Folks!

I have in front of me a Winchester 1897 takedown shotgun (circa 1916).

The fit of the barrel and magazine tube to the receiver is a bit loose. I know John Browning designed most, if not all, of his takedown models with some sort of adjustment feature.

Anyone know what or where it might be on the 1897?

Thanks!
Dave

maybe

It should be a little deal on the barrel where you back a screw out and rotate the little deal that is designed to take up slack. You might have to rotate it a tad further around and then retighten the screw and then see how it works. It shouldn't take too much of rotation to get the barrel tight for you.

Look at the face where the barrel tightens up against the receiver to see what I am talking about.
