Hi all: I'm new to the forum and I have a question I hope you seasoned members can help with. I have a early 1894 SRC in 30wcf that has the rear ladder sight like no other I've seen before or discussed in the books. It looks like most ladder sights with the incremental markings on the right from 0 to 20, but in addition, it has graduated markings on the left from 200 to 1000 and the word "meters" at the top on the markings. Does anyone know if this sight is original to the firearm and why the markings in meters on a early American firearm? Thanks.
