Winchester 1892 Trapper Takedown in .357

Who has one? I felt the action on a new Winchester 1892 but it was in the 44-40 (I simply do not want to add another caliber to my reloading bench) and it was SMOOTH!

I see Winchester has a Takedown/trapper version in .357 with a 16in barrel. Though it's WAY over-priced, I want one...if the quality is there. If anyone has one of these, I'd love to hear your experience. I have not yet ordered, and just want to hear from some owners....also, wouldn't mind hearing from those with the Model 94 in 30-30 take down.

Thanks in advance.

Rest assured, the quality is there.

Miroku (Japan) made "Winchesters" have exhibited bettter fit/finish than anything that came out of CT since at least the late 1960's - EXCEPT that Winchester has Miroku lawyer them up with redundant safeties.

Excellent. They had 2 of the newest Marlins at the gun shop. The Winchester had WAY better fit, finish and smoother operation. Pity, as my old 1940's vintage 336 operates smoother than the ones I saw in the gun shop.

Now, I get to decide...the .357 takedown with the 16" barrel....or the 30-30 model 94 takedown with the 20" barrel. Might end up coming down to which one the shop can get in first.
