I just acquired a winchester 1892 in 44wcf........it is mechanically excellent......bore has some light pitting but good rifling......it has 50% or better bluing on the barrel and tube and maybe 20% bluing on reciever.......no rust......and the stocks are good.....only one ding and one scuff mark....all original with a round barrel in the 24 inch length and crescent moon butt stock plate..........great shooter but im real curious what its worth??? It has a low serial number 30k which dates it to 1893...........any help guys?

Congratulations - Sounds like you've got a good one! - classic old west caliber. I'd look at www.Merzantique.com (IIRC, if that doesn't work, add an "s" on the end) and knock about 25-30% off for a reasonably quick real world sale price. Also check "sold" prices for Gunbroker. Though that's not particularly the best/last word on the classic antique market. Watch your loads with that old metal--it's pre smokeless era, and if you shoot it any more, I'd have it checked out and lubed first. My .02
