Hi guys
I am new to this so please forgive me if I am doing something wrong
Looking at a fully restored 1873 Winchester
Work was done by a local gunsmith except for the barrel lining
I think was done by Redmans since you cannot see the seem at the muzzle
It looks like a new gun except for a few stock repairs that look great too
Cal is 44-40 with octagon barrel
Awesome shooter and wondering what it's value might be
He's asking in the 2k range
Help with If it's priced right
Thanks a lot
Don

Considering that you can buy a newly produced and branded (from) Winchester 1873 for about $1100.00, I would have to say the 2k is no deal.

IMO 2000 is a little high for a decent one in original condition. I wouldn't give 1000 for a restored one.

I shoot an original '73. A friend is having his "shooter" relined and blued, but his father is doing the work.
There is something about the feel of an original that even a new Winchester doesn't have, wouldn't go 2 for it, as stated rebuild lowers the "gun safe" value.
