Winchester 1300

I was told by a guy I work with that after March 31 Winchester is going to stop making the Model 1300. I was planning on buying a new 8 shot defender as soon as I had the money saved. Does anybody know anything about this.

However, FN, parent company of Browning and Winchester, may still be making the FN Police, which is just like a 1300 Defender but has "TacChokes" aka WinChokes instead of a fixed choke and adjustable rifle sights. I just picked one up, but I haven't had a chance to shoot it. Mine was made in New Haven, so maybe they'll stop making them too, but I saw an ad for them in a gun mag this month, so I don't think they will. The ad showed one with a standard stock like I have, one with a pistol grip stock, and one with a collapsible stock, ghost ring sights, and a Picatinny rail.

Websites are notoriously out of date.
The FN 1300s were made, either in part or wholly, at the New Haven plant. FN has not produced them concurrently.
As it stands now, when FN's stock of "Winchester"-based guns are gone, they're gone.

Win 1300 Defender

I need to purchase a replacement barrel for my Defender. The silver solder that holds the magazine support to the barrel has failed after about 30 rounds from new!!
It would be appreciated if sks could advise where I could actually buy another barrel - as I have not had ANY help on this matter from Winchester. The local gunsmith is planning to fit a longer barrel and cut to length and shorten the magazine from 8 to 4 rounds??
I don't know where to turn to next!! Your help appreciated.

regards from sunny New Zealand!
