Winchester 1300 problem

I have a pump action Win 1300. When I take a shot it doesnt grab the used shell when I try to cycle. It has done this since I bought the gun 2 years ago. I thought it might have just been a breaking in issue and have take in out many times to just put some rounds out there but it still hasnt improved. Has anyone had this problem or heard of any fix it tips for this?

Apparently some 1300s had extractor issues
Mine has not had a problem but I hardly ever use it

So all I can suggest is to look into replacing the extractor

Here's some of the "usual" things to do.

1. Buy a shotgun chamber brush set and scrub the chamber REALLY well. Modern plastic shot shells foul the chambers badly and the build up of carbon, and plastic can cause extraction problems.

2. Clean/check the extractor assembly. If it's gummed or fouled up it may not hold the shell during extraction.
Check the extractor for free movement and plenty of spring tension.
Check it for a broken, chipped, or deformed hook.

3. Try a different, better brand of shells. Some guns just don't "like" some ammo.

If none of the above help, take it to a gunsmith.
