Winchester 120 on hold.

Hi all. I put a 120 Ranger on hold today. It is in 20ga. Looks like it has barely if ever been shot. Action is smooth and seems to function just fine. Is there anything I need to know about these that would be a deal breaker? I am going to pick it up tomorrow. Seems like a great gun for very little money.

How much is very little money?

Remember the 120 is a cheaper version of the 1200 series guns, that were made as cheap as possible and still shoot.

But still I would take a 120 over one of the import clone guns from China.

I'd jump on that in a second. I bought one in the '80s NIB for not much more than that and it quickly became my go-to shotgun for upland hunting. Basically, the only difference between it and the 1200 was the wood, and in my hunting environs, we're tough on stocks anyway. I can't tell you how many squirrels, rabbits, ducks and doves that shotgun has accounted for. It's a great little shooter and I wouldn't trade mine.

Not a bad deal at all considering I bought my first 20 ga 30 years ago used for $110. Primarily for my kids, but I won't tell you I can't wait to nail some clay birds with it! 28 inch, vent rib, screw in choke, fiber optic sight.
