Is Winchester Q4318 9MM NATO sold under the USA brand standard pressure or +P?

It's a 124 gr FMJ supposedly running 1200FPS. I've always considered to be a standard pressure load, although hotter than most other standard loads, but not quite +P. TIA

Here is an answer to a similar question I asked of Winchester:

Jim,

Thank you very much for taking the time to contact us here at Winchester
Ammunition. We are always glad to hear from our many friends and customers
who share in the shooting sport.

That round is classified as 9mm NATO, which is higher than +P and +P+.

Thank you again for contacting us here at Winchester Ammunition. If you
should require additional information, do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

This response is dated 03/12/02.

However, I have my doubts about the validity of his statement that it is higher than +P+ ammo.

It is rated at 1230 fps but I don't know what length barrel they are using or if it is a test barrel.

The ammo that I have is marketed in a plain white box with black lettering, not the USA packaging.

My results are less than what are advertised as far as velocity.

Walthet P99 4" bbl. avg. 10 rds. - 1184.5 fps and 1187.4 fps.
Glock 17 4.92" bbl. avg. 10 rds. - 1214.6 fps and 1228.6 fps.

The reason I said USA brand is because that's the only 124gr FMJ they sell, however as you stated, the box is white with black lettering and does not have the USA trademark. I'm surprised they're selling a +P+ ammo without marking it as such. Regardless, I'll be shooting it in a G-17 with a G-22 receiver. If it can handle .40SW it should be fine with 9MM+P+ :)

The only mention that Winchester makes as to the power or pressure of these rounds is the statement on the back of the box.

"These cartridges are loaded to military velocity and pressure which is higher than 9mm Luger cartridges; average pressure is 10% higher than industry standard for 9mm Luger."

There is NO mention of +P or +P+ rating on the box.

I have found these rounds NOT to be as accurate at 25 yds. as other 9mmx19 124gr. ball loads.
This is thru two P99's and a G17. Acceptable for the intended purpose but not as good as others.

It is good ammo however for the price I paid from OMB Police Supply in KS.

The primers are crimped in so the reloader side of me is not happy with that. I use it for shoot and go applications where I don't pickup my brass. ;)
