There's a limit to # of tickets sold, so your odds could be no worse than 1/250.

They're doing it as a fund-raiser for the site. Come to think of it, Rich L., would TFL ever do something like this ? Keep it nice & legal, FFL to FFL, to a properly (by his/her state) credentialled winner. Be a popular way to pay for the bandwidth. I know at BFC they do banner ads to support the site. I don't know how you do it, but keep it up !

When they held the Glock raffle, it was a major hassle to get the pistol. It took months to get the pistols we were supposed to have won. Mine never did arrive.

However, the other guy who won a Glock got his and the guy actually doing the raffle made good for me as well. He had been blaming his FFL for not being upfront with him about shipping the guns and making delays. Frankly I was starting not to believe it when he finally threw up his hands in disgust, cancelled the order and sent me a money order for $600. I had won a Glock 17, so that was actually slightly more than I was entitled to. I bought a used SIG 220 and I've been happy ever since. I plan to ask if Nick has changed FFL's and if he has, I may enter again. The odds really are great.

That IS a pretty slick idea. I'd certainly buy a couple of tickets on an on-going basis to support TFL.

One of the local gun shops used to do something similar on a monthly basis. They would sell $5 tickets up to the value of the gun, then draw. Winner had to pay sales tax and fee for the NICS check.

What about it, Rich?

I think it's a good idea except that Rich will have to jump through the hoops to make it legal. A local gun shop in Idaho raffled away their demo's every month (one a month). For $2 a ticket, limited to (I think) 200 customers and they paid the $5 fee for the winner if need be (most had CHL's anyway). If the winner was underaged or couldn't get the OK from nics then they got the cash (didn't get any non OK's that I know of). It brought in the customers and the owner only took 1/3 of the money for business. It's an idea.

Does anyone know what happens if the minimum number of tickets isn't sold? I assume your money would be refunded?

BAB: In this day and age... with as many gun owners who just can't "have just one".. I doubt that all the limited tickets won't be sold... Heck, I'm poor and I can get enough soda (Pop for the west coast) bottles to get the $2 to $20 dollar price to enter. Heck, the shop in Idaho had to hire a part timer just to sign up the people for the raffle due to overwelming response. The raffle started on the 2nd Friday of each month.. tickets were sold out by the Third Tuesday (if not sooner) of same month. They were closed on Sunday.. but on Monday on the way to work.. Geez.
