Have a Winchester 94 30 30 that was my Dads gun serial # is 1518254.

Also a Winchester 88 chambered in 284 serial 1523744.

Was more curious about the 30 30, how to figure out when it was made

Thanks Blindstitch, found a site called oldguns.net dated the 94 at 1949. I think I added an extra 4 on the 88 it dated at 1964 I don't think it is that old though I was thinking late 60's early 70's but they know better than I

It is entirely possible for a gun to have been made in 64, but not sold at retail until the later 60s or early 70s.

Salvadore are those peep sights on it? Mine shoots well also but about 4 inches to the right at 50 yards, any way to adjust for windage? mine has marble co. sights the same company that made knives

Here is my 94.

This rifle was made in 1939 and has been passed down thru a long time AZ family. The family story is that this rifle was given to a widow living in Northern AZ, by Clark Gable, who was there hunting and found out she did not have a rifle.

Hounddogman, they are Lyman's reciever sight, I believe the model # was 66. If you have a barrel mounted rear sight, you should be able to drift it slightly to the left.
