Wilson Combat scattergun (standard model) A good buy?

I was looking into buying a defensive shotgun, and the Wilson Combat Standard model caught my eye, however, is it worth $1150? It looks to be an excellent choice for a defensive weapon with the pump action, 7 round mag, and built in light. But I'm not sure about it. Anyone have expierence with Wilson Combat's shotguns or this model?

I am sure that their guns are nice but you can build two of those yourself for close to that price. The last time I looked at Wilson's SG's they were not actually doing anything to the gun but bolting things on and perhaps coating it.
No forcing cone, no back bore, no trigger job, no action tuning, nothing.
I could be wrong but I'd spend the money on a nice used 870 and buy the sidesaddle, light and synthetic stocks myself. Spend the extra on ammo!
To those of you who have bought one of these, no offense meant and I am sure that they are nice guns, especially for the one-stop shopper.
I like to tinker way to much to actually pay someone else to do it. It's like paying someone to race my car.

If you check the thread that has pictures of shotguns posted you’ll find two of my Remington 870s. On one (the one that resembles a Wilson the closest) I spent $1045 and built it myself. I will risk the wrath of others by saying it is superior to the Wilson.

If you have that kind of money, you should visit with the guys at Vang Comp before buying a Wilson. No, Hans Vang does not pay me anything to promote his guns. I am just amazed with the work he has done on mine.

Since Wilson uses the cheaper Remington Express model as the basis for their guns, that price is not too good.

For about 1/2 the price you could buy the absolute BEST, which is the Remington Police gun.
The Police Model is built from the same components as the expensive sporting Wingmaster.

The Police Model receives extensive hand finishing and comes from the factory with what amounts to a "reliability package".

The only problem with the Police model is finding a dealer who will special order one for you.

Dfaris,
No flame here but if the reliability package includes the ejector popping out of the rivet after 50 rounds...well I better stop. My ca. 92 Express is more rugged and has proven more reliable. The Police has been fixed and it is a beauty to behold - polished blue and wood - but the Express has more metal and is an unflinching workhorse.
