They are incredibly sweet pistols. So smooth in every way. Stock Berettas are superb mass-production service pistols, but the Brig Tac really takes it to a different level. The fit is vault-tight, the trigger easily the best I've ever felt on a DA/SA gun, and the accuracy superb. Bill Wilson, Ernie Langdon, and others are getting 2.5" groups at 50 yards with their handloads. No MIM or polymer-coated steel parts, either, which is pretty rare these days at $1,200 and under. It's pretty easily the best value in a DA/SA gun in that price range, to my mind.
This gun is getting a lot of run in other forums, like m4c, Todd Green's forum, and 1911forum, for instance. Doesn't seem that many over here at TFL have picked one up, though. Go check out the super-long Brig Tac thread on berettaforum.net if you have the time (with several dozen posts from Bill Wilson). It's chock-full of 1911-lovers coming over with new accounts and saying stuff like, "I always disliked the Beretta for no good reason, but then I decided to give it a shot when I heard Bill Wilson say it was his second-favorite pistol. I'm mad at myself for not trying one sooner!"
It's often maddening to be a fan of Beretta's because of how unresponsive they can be to what people would like to see from them. Without Bill Wilson, Beretta would never have done something like this. Now they're selling them three or four times faster than expected. Hopefully someone at Beretta will learn the right lessons here.
Anyway, apologies for the rambling. You're going to love it. Across all forums, I have not read one review that was less than enthusiastic. It seems to be surpassing most buyers' expectations.
