Williams Receiver Sight

Anyone installed one on a modern Winchester Lever Action? Any drilling and tapping required? Thanks.

My late model angle eject with the stupid lawyer-proof crossbar safety is NOT drilled and tapped for a receiver sight.
The easy way to check is look on the left side of the receiver. If there are two screws, about a quarter inch below the top of thr receiver, and maybe seven-eigths of an in apart, then you won't have to drill and tap. No screws, time to visit your friendly local gunsmith.

That is strange.
I have 2 cross-bolt safety m94's and they are D&T already.
Has Winchester stopped the practice? Perhaps cutting costs?

Sharpsrifle. Could be. Mine is a carbine in .45 LC. Maybe they're not D&Ting the guns in cowboy loads. All my other 94's are D&T'ed except my 30-30 made in 1911. It is drilled for a tang sight though.
That's why I'll probably take it to the next cowboy match and unload it. I never could see ascope on a lever action. :)

Yeah, mine are both "Trappers" (30/30 &.45LC). Maybe it's just the "Cowboys".
I'm with you on the scopes issue. Peeps-always. Scopes-never.
