Will these sling studs work for my marlin model 60?

i want to put a bipod on my marlin model 60 but if any of have model 60s you know there is hardly any "meat" to tap into.

so i found a few sling studs that i am hoping will work, here are the links.
i can probably take it to a gun smith if i need too, but i'm pretty good with DIY stuff.

i was thinking with this set i could shorten the machine screw...

I'm not sure about this one because its pretty short...

if any of you can tell me what i should use that would be awesome!

thank's!

No, no and no.... in that order. Since it's a tube feed gun there isn't enough wood to inlet the nut and countersink the screw.
Uncle Mikes also makes one that attaches around the magazine tube, the part number is 1341-2, QD 115 RF.

Why would you want a bipod on a model 60 anyway? That's kind of like putting a spoiler on a VW beetle.

Because I want too.

And also when I go shooting I don't take a bench rest with me.
Btw: I've seen beetles with spoilers, look pretty cool ;)

Do like a lot of the varmit hunters do, get a couple of sticks and some paracord and make one (a rest). Your other option would be to use an aftermarket stock with the stud already installed. Not worth damaging your rifle.

I agree with Ozarkrecluse. I carry a collapsable set of bipod shooting sticks in the field. They collapse down far enough to use from a sitting position or expand far enough to use standing.

I have personally watched my hunting buddy use them to put 5 shots into a fist-sized group at a measured 490 yds with an un-altered Walmart rifle and factory ammo. Thats as accurate as any mounted bipod I've ever seen.

Do you want something like this?

Use a front stud that has machine screw threads and a "t" nut insert and you are good to go. Mine is solid and works well.
