Will there be a .17HMR Single-Six?

Any gossip around the watercooler about a .17HMR Single-Six? Ruger seems to have jumped on the .17 rifle wagon, but where's the darn pistols?

I have a serious jonesing for the 96/17, but since I don't (currently) shoot varmints, it's difficult to justify.

Several people including one of their mods at Ruger forum keep saying that a .17 cal Single Six will be introduced in 2003. Also in the works according to them is a 50th anniversary Single-Six.

FWIW.

I saw one at a gun show last Saturday. It's still a shock to me to see that small a hole in the muzzle of a revolver.

I saw a taurus tracker in .17 hmr.
I believe they wanted a little over $300 for it new.
I would just have to have one if ruger came out with a single six chambered in .17hmr, and offered it in shiny stainless with a black or white micarta bird's head grip.
