Will P220 frames & slides interchange?

I have 2 P220s and was curious if the slides and frames would interchange. Both are German & have the old style grips & mainspring assembles if that is of any relevance.

While they would interchange, I generally don't like slapping new slides on guns unless absolutely necessary. When guns are broken in the frame and slide mate and create specific wear patterns, putting on a new slide and shooting the gun will create a different wear pattern. In the end does all this add up to any appreciable difference in the function of the gun? Probably not, but it's just my take on it.

The slides aren't typically mated to the frame. The factory produces batches of frames and batches of slides. Now some companies do create pistols that are so tight in their tolerances that they do require individual fitting (high end 1911s and competition pistols for example). But these are production service pistols. They may on occasion need new slides, barrels, frames, who knows depending on how they are treated. The tolerances are lose enough that it should work if you need to swap the slides.
