Will my 11-87 fire exotic rounds?

I have a Remington 11-87 Premier edition- 3" chamber. I'm not familiar with shotguns at all, I'm almost exclusively a pistol and rifle collector.

So what are the limiting factors for shooting rounds like Dragon's Breath, flachette etc? Thanks.

So I was just reading, and dragon's breath can't be easily fired out of a semi auto. Not to mention the possible combustibility of the gas...

MOST exotic loads work best in movies and on TV. Fire off a round of Dragon's Breath here in South Texas right now and you'd likely burn down a county or two. If you use something in self defense you might have to explain to a Civil Jury why you shot that poor defenseless child with something different than the Police use.

Well, I'll put it this way.

You can shoot all the Dragons Breath you want in your 11-87, but I sure won't loan you mine to shoot it in.

Many exotic and novelty loads don't have enough umph to cycle a semiauto shotgun.

Limiting factors include the excessive price and limited effectiveness of such novelty rounds. If they actually worked well, they would see widespread use and would be readily available.

Ya, one of the reasons I got turned off to semis.

...not that I was looking to shoot a bunch of rubber balls or fire or arrows out of mine like Russian FPS :P

BTW, there's a good reason the military stopped using most exotic shot shells, they don't really work that well specially given what you pay for'm. I've shot folks with buckshot and it works just fine.

My 11 87 cycled any manner of Low brass rounds except the very light reduced recoil ones. so I'd it's a power question that should address it.

Exotics like dragons breath.... Why? Good way to gunk up the system real bad.
