Will a standard Savage 110C magazine fit a Savage model J rifle?

Hi everyone,

I have an older Savage 110CL series J rifle in 7 mm that needs a new magazine (the magazine release is a button located on the side of the stock).

I seem to remember reading that there was something differen't about the model J magazines and that the newer 110C magazines would not fit.

Does any one know if the current 110C mags would fit a model J rifle?

Good chance it will.

I had to pry the mag from my scout rifle,ruining same, long story.

I had a spare mag from my Dad's J series and it worked fine.

But.........both were based on same case, .243 (the J) and .308, (the scout)

I'll pick up a new 110C magazine and give it a try. Can always sell it if it does not work.

Before you part with cash, you might just call Savage and see. They'll be the authority. My experience may not be the norm.
