Will a P-97 DAO hammer work on the P-97DC?

Our police department issues the P97DC.The problem is that I receive a hammer bite while shooting it. One other officer has the same problem w/ hammer bite.

My question is can the hammer of the P97DOA be dropped into the P97DC&havthe DC retain it's double/single action?
 
George thnks for the reply. I've thought of bobbing the hammer but I was hoping that someone with experience "smithing" Rugers would know if it could work.
 
would bobing the hammer void warranty?contact Ruger for sure
and you just might get a newly designed hammer, free!
 
I really doubt it Neal. I would assume that they would not have a SA sear notch cut on the DAO hammer. There would be no need for it. As George said, it would be much simpler to bob your existing hammer. I can almost guarantee that Ruger would not sell you a hammer directly, due to the fitting that would be involved.
