Hey all,

I've got my Talo GP100 on the way and I've started looking at Concealed carry holsters. A search revealed a few posts where this had been discussed, but it seemed to be older posts and I know the market changes pretty rapidly.
I'm think IWB may the best way to carry this gun and would like some suggestions as to the best holster. I'm open to other suggestions as well if another type works, but I am a pretty big fella and a t-shirt/blue jeans kinda guy and I know this is a good sized chunk to conceal.
I would appreciate any suggestions as to type and brand of holster. Pictures would be ideal, but any info is welcome. Thank you very much for your time.

IWB holster

I would suggest going to visit Lobo Gun Leather. I have two of the enhanced pancake holsters OWB and love them. Just cover with a shirt.

Your primary problem for concealing a GP100 is the length of the grip. The GP100's cylinder diameter is not enough to print in a way that matters. The holster needs lots of forward cant. I "hacked" my VM2 by removing the rear leather strap and replacing it with a single rubber strap on the bottom (the photo does not show it). This adds a bit more cant to mitigate printing by the stocks. You can buy the rubber strap from knifekits.com.

The next thing you need are shorter grips. The grips are too long, though they're better than the Hogues. Look for some shorter stocks from Badger, Herretts or Eagle. I'm sure others make them too.

A good gun belt is mandatory due to the weight of the gun. The belt must be wide enough (I like 1 1/2") to resist the gun. You do not want it to flop around.

Your t-shirt should be straight cut and loose. I do recommend wearing another shirt beneath the outer shirt. This assists in reducing printing. Make sure the inner shirt is shorter than the outer one so you don't look like a dork.

These revolvers (due to their grips) and their rigs are large and require it bit more for effective concealment. Due to the low capacity of the revolver, I believe you should also carry at least two full reloads for the gun and a backup gun. I use Safariland #371 speed loader holders and Safariland Comp II loaders. These hide fairly well.

Check out Simply Rugged holsters. You can get them with "inside out straps" so it can carry IWB or OWB.

I use mine primarily IWB with much bigger guns than a Wiley Clap GP100 with just an untucked T shirt for cover , and I'm more or less average size. (5'10" about 185 ish)

A good GUN belt is a necessity. Belt needs to be good and stiff.. Much more so than a Dept. store belt. I can't emphasize this enough.

Here's a pic of the Simply Rugged with a 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk.

untuck the shirt, and it disappears.

same holster with my other Blackhawk in it.
