WI: State Assembly to vote for CCW veto override (watch the action)

I have my fingers crossed!!!

Trip please post here when you know the outcome. I'm at work with no radio or anything and can only check back from time to time.....Thanks!

Here we go, they've been in session for all of one half hour, and they're asking for a caucus. Expect this to last hours and hours.

A caucus, or "partisan caucus," is basically a meeting of members of a political party (in this case, Democrats).

They do this in order to stall, and muster their last ditch efforts to gain votes. They pull all the stops here. I'm assuming there's a lot of bribery and other such under-the-table dealings at the moment.

This could last for hours and hours on end.

It could be the wee hours of the morning before we know the final outcome.

When the Assembly debated the bill the first time around a month or so ago, they were at it until around 3-4am. I wasn't too productive at work the following day.

Great, I lost some sleep thinking about this last night as it was. It will be worth it if it comes out "right" in the end, even if that means 4am Friday night. Thanks for filling me in!

Yeah, I should have taken off tomorrow, in addition to today.

I'll keep you posted as I find things out. I know someone who's down there in Madison (MonkeyLeg here at TFL; aka, Dick Baker). I plan on giving him a call from time to time.

I better start another pot of coffee.

Sorry guys.

I hope you are all motivated to do what needs to be done now. Those who opposed it and most importantly those who changed their vote, need to feel the pain when re-election time comes.

Any politician who turned on you was clearly only panderring for your vote when they KNEW the governor would veto. Even if they are not your assemblymen you must contribute your time and money to get them thrown out. Start by bombarding them with emails letting them know that even though you are in another district it is now your primary goal to get them thrown out. Then make it happen.

+1 superpelly. Though I never had to begin with.

I don't know how this was even an issue. 46 other states, 47 soon to be Nebraska I'm told. NO shall issue State has ever had it repealed!!!! Look at the statistics. There really are almost NO problems. I don't get it.

+1 Hunter Rose...

remember in November!!

P. S. Does the Wisconsin state constitution allow for recall of the governor or legislators?
