Thanks!

It sure does. Scheduled for Assembly veto next Tuesday (tentatively). It's not a sure thing, but the anti's are sweating bullets, as well as the pro-gun folks.

It could go either way in the Assembly.

My blood pressure will be high until this is finalized.

Thanks for your good wishes, and I agree... we're due!

We need to keep the 6 Assembly Democrats on our side for the override to be successful.

Of the 6 Democrats, 4 have "promised" to vote for the override. The other 2 Democrats are laying low and keeping their vote close to their chest. These 2 are making everyone nervous.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up... but it's hard not to.

A report from the office of the Assistant Assembly Minority Leader Jon Richards was released yesterday. Try not to get angry, or throw vomit in all directions while reading this "report."

Trip20: I will be sweating this too until Tuesday. I hope they finalize it then so we don't have to wait anymore. If by chance this doesn't pass, when is the next time this will make it's way around again(hopefully without Doyle in office)?

SMITH910 - that's a tough question. If this attempt fails, it could be a long while before we have any real chance at concealed carry.

With so many Republicans retiring and the potential to lose seats in the Senate and Assembly, I'd be suprised if a future attempt received a committee vote, let alone a finalized law reaching the Governors desk.

That report is ridiculous.

There's nearly 296 million people in this country and it sights less than 20 examples of where CCW might have been an issue. 1/2 of those can be readily dismissed as not related to CC and the other half could have happened regardless of the law.

Of course there's no examples of where CC was properly used to prevent a crime or save someones life. God forbid we balance it out . No, instead it's written as if that never happens.

Somebody please slap the idiot that wrote that crapola.

If anyone lives in the Madison area and is free at 11:00 am on 1-31-06, there will be many people, including myself, gathering at the capital. There will be jerky and venison in room 15 south...also pick up your support stickers there!
