Here you go, folks: Proof positive that the gun banners are right!
The more helpless you are, the safer you are from criminals.
An intruder will be incapacitated with oven cleaner or bug spray, but if shot with a .357 magnum will become outraged and kill you.
A woman raped and beaten to death is morally superior to a woman holding a smoking gun with a dead rapist at her feet.
The 2nd Amendment, ratified in 1787, in fact refers to the National Guard, which was created 130 years later, in 1917.
Rifles and handguns are useless for national defense, which explains why the U.S. armed forces has millions of them.
A handgun, with up to 4 controls, is far too complex for the average adult to use as opposed to an automobile which has as many as 20 controls.
Handguns cause violence, which is why there are so many mass killings at gun shows.
Police operate with backup and in groups, which is why they need large capacity pistol magazines. On the other hand, private citizens must face criminals alone and therefore have no need of large capacity magazines.
We must ban "Saturday Night Specials" and other affordable handguns because it is unfair that the poor have access to self defense handguns, too.
Citizens do not need to carry a gun for personal protection, but police chiefs, who are desk-bound administrators that work in buildings filled with armed police officers, do need to carry a gun.
"Assault weapons" have no puropse other than to kill large numbers of people; this explains why the police need "assault weapons" but the private citizen does not.
Trigger locks do not interfere with the ability to use a gun for defensive purposes, which is why all police officers have a trigger lock on their duty weapon.
Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) says a concealed carry permit will not help deter criminal attacks, which is why she has one.
The phrases, "right of the people to peacably assemble," "right of the people to be secure in their homes," "enumerations herein of certain rights shall not be construed to disparage others retained by the people," and "the powers not delegated herein are reserved to the states respectively, and to the people" all refer to individual citizens. But "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" refers to the state.
See?? The gun banners have been right all along!! :barf: :barf: :barf:
