Why we lost the culture war

Excellent article, Dennis. And sadly, so true...

Thanks for posting this, Dennis. I heard this gal speak in person maybe 1.5 years ago. She's one SMART lady. I was really, really impressed. She's learned facts and made connections I've heard no where else. I recommend reading her works. -- Denise

I'm afraid I must disagree. There are some good points in this article, but there are also many bad ones, and some clear fallacies. It's not obvious to me that social conservatism (using the author's term)has in fact failed, but if it has, I'm glad. When you get right down to it, the socialists of the left and the socialists of the right aren't very different: They're both the enemies of free people.

I agree with the article that the social conservatives have lost most of their battles, but I disagree on the reasoning. It's not that they chose poor venues and didn't pay heed to Sun Tzu's battle tactics. The plain fact is that they are WRONG on a whole lot of issues, and if you total up their agenda, the bottom line is that they don't trust adults to run their own lives, and they want to do it for you.
