Why the so many locked threads??

I am quite amazed by the efficiency of the moderators here on this board.

Noticed this differences when compared with AR15.

Here:

--Things that should be posted somewhere else are moved and locked.

--The thread size seems to be highly regulated.

Just my observations. No offense intended to the Moderators of both boards who are doing all of us a favor by volunteering their precious time.

thanks

I kept looking for an offense in your note, but couldn't find one. It sounds like a complement to me. In which case, thanks from all of us worker bees. :)

Offended? Brainiac, it takes a LOT to offend me. ;)

Brainiac,
Some of us have slow hook-ups and long threads take "forever" to load - so we try to start a "part two" (or whatever) when they reach around 100K or 50 posts (whichever comes first).

It's the members that make TFL! But it's the moderators who keep the show on the road. The Moderators put in more work than most folks can realize.

My hat's off to them all.

I believe in conspiracy theories. Janet Reno has diguised herself, infiltrated TFL. and is locking threads she considers politically incorrect. Or, mabbe it Hillary Clinton.

Actually, Brainiac (and it's hard to start a sentence that way and not feel like you're starting a sarcastic, flip response. :)), I'll bet that more than half of the "locked" threads that you're seeing are actually just locked in that forum, but moved to another. The locked thread is left intact in the first forum to provide a roadmap for the people who wish to return to it, so that they know to investigate the new location of the forum.

The threads that are over 100k are locked to reduce download time for those of us poor slobs who are dial-up at a piddlin' 33.6 kB.

It's nice to know someone's watching.... ;)
