Why so much dislike for the Remington 522 Viper?

It's light, cheap (only $150 at the time), and mine has always been as accurate and reliable as a $400 - and much heavier - Thompson Center Silver Lynx

So why is it so disliked? :(

There were several issues with them, poor triggers and magazine issues. Possibly the main issue with them was that they followed a super-reliable very popular rifle (Nylon 66 and 77 rifles) that were discontinued. Even at the price they sold for, they were nowhere near as reliable as the Savage 64, TC, or Ruger 10/22 they competed with. All in all an OK rifle, but not a super rifle.

I have one. Goes bang every time. Came with 4 mags. It's super light and hits the bull at 100 every time. (4" bull:D) I paid $40.00 CA$H for it and feel that I got a fair deal. Makes a fine plinkin gun. I would buy another for $40.00.
