Why?? (Sigma question)

Hello:

A week ago I bought a couple of high capacity mags (17r) for my Sigma SW9VE (Already owned a couple and never had any trouble). Yesterday on my range trip to try the new mags... they dropped on the first shot!!! Made myself sure I was not hitting the mag release, but it happended time after time...

It only happens when you fire the gun. Otherwise the gun cycles just fine.

Does anyone have a clue about this problem and it´s solution??

Thanks in advance...

It seems that the magazine catch isn't engaging those like the other mags. I'd take a close look at the size and position of the magazine catch hole in the new mags compared to the older ones that work properly.

The square is maybe 1mm taller than the others and maybe the angle that engages the release is a little rounded. But as far as very big differences... I don´t think they look particulary different.

I suspect it won't take much of a difference to cause the problem you describe. In any case, it sure would be my top suspect. When you seat the magazines, can you see any difference in the magazine catch?

One other thing that I thought of is perhaps the slide is just trimming the magazine lips and kicking it out, is that possible? I don't have a Sigma to look at, so it's difficult for me to know if this is even possible.
