Why it MAY be a good thing to have Gore as 43rd president!

Before everybody jumps all over me, I would like to share something with you that my wife brought up. Do any of you remember anything about the 'old Indian Chief curse' put on the president (back in 1840 I think). We had screwed the Indians in another broken treaty when the Indian Chief cursed the presidency. His curse was that every 20 years a president would die in office. With minor exceptions, this has occured like clockwork (did RR really only get wounded - ala 'Dave' the movie scenario).

Guess what? This is the end of twenty years for the coming president. Which means Al Gore COULD die in office. That would mean we could end up with the first JEWISH president EVER!! Maybe Joe would go back to his original idealogue if that happened. Who knows.

One thing is for sure. IF a president HAS TO DIE IN OFFICE (of natural causes, of course), I personally would rather see Al Gore give his all for his country (just this once) instead of GW Bush.

That's the way I see it. What do you think???

how morbid...

But I hadn't heard of that curse. Interesting, though. Problem is, due to Algore's left-wing extremist idealogy, if anyone assassinates him, it'll likely be a Timothy McVeigh type nutcase, and that will hurt our RKBA cause even more.

Unless, of course, the culprit is a EXTREME left-wing disgruntled Nader voter who feels that Gore stole the election from Nader. Remember, these are the same people that spike trees and thusly kill innocent lumberjacks....

This would be awful.... totally awful.

Politics of death, as seen in Missouri, are very strong. Pressure would exist to pass Gore's plan, he would be compared over and over with Kennedy. Bleeech. No way. It would make him a martyr and be crippling to fight against any of his antigun ecofreak proposals.

I've heard this discussion before ... as I recall, when JFK was assassinated. Ronald Reagan was nearly assassinated by John Hinckley, and I believe that is the exception to this 'rule'.

I would love to see Gore win the Oval Office. America is balkanized, there's a massive recession coming, and Congress is going to be backstabbing and knee-biting left and right. The next president is in for four years of heartburn, headaches and misery.

I, frankly speaking, can't think of a better pile of cat yack to inherit four years of hell than our very own Al Gore.

Except...the Supreme Court Justices that the next president will appoint. That, my friends, is one legacy that will last for a generation or two.

Guys, let's not rationalize a loss. If you want to do that, then look to the economy going into the toilet over the next four years. I will say that Gore is tempting fate. I don't wish any man that fate, but history would not reflect upon him kindly should he pull this off. He may wish he never ascended to this high office in such a way.

I have to say that I don't like the prospect of Gore picking Supremes. Lieberman has shown that he will do anything for political expediency-I don't care for that idea either.

My beloved said the same thing about the coming recession and how it would be better if that were to happen on Gore's watch. My response to that is this-The Democrats have shown repeatedly that whenever something bad happens it's not their fault-it's the nasty Republicans who don't play nice. The media goes along with that theme and then the people put more Democrats in office.

If Gore does take office, it will be a very scary thing no matter how you look at it.

I'm glad there are so many optimists out there, but I can't be one at this point. Gore will do his level best to turn this nation into a Socialist nation just as fast as he can.

On the surface it looks great to have Gore as the president. His claim to fame is the good economy and job market him and his partner in crime created over the last 8 years.

Personally, I believe the efforts in military spending during the Reagan years fueled the high tech job market. High tech does have peaks and valley's, and we are due for a valley. Look at the fallout from all the .coms who can't seem to keep up and the stock market of all high techs.

Of course I lost a good blue collar job during Reaganomics, although I re-invented myself with high tech and make about 4 times the salary that started as a DOD contractor.

On the other hand, god only knows what kind of weirdo's from the kumbya crowd he will have on his staff. Keep in mind the supreme court justices he will get to appoint. And he will also blame the republican congress if the economy gets real bad.

Anyway, lets work at local and state levels to STOP rights infringement. In 2 years we get some new senators and reps which might make Gore a lame duck at least. If Bush wins though, great!

The next president will have to deal with:

1) A recession. Any day now.

2) A world full of countries angry with Clinton's "we know better than you" foreign policy. If there aren't backlashes, I'll be shocked. Bush may be able to avoid some of this, but Gore won't.

3) A fractionalized country. It will take a true leader to bring this country together, and neither suit sack is a leader.
