"Why I will not obey . . .

I noticed that the url I posted will not link to the article. You will need to click on 'requested items', on the Metcalf site, to find "Why I will not obey..."

Great post. Very good article. Everyone in Kalifornia (I am one of those) must read this.
Thanks for the post.

Good article.. I'm here in the peoples republic of NY where Pataki has suddenly got a gun-banning bug in his bonnet. Everyone in NY should also read this. So while I pray for the best (and write and call my reps) I will prepare for the worst. Any ideas on the best way to store an AR-15 and an appropriate amount of ammo for an indefinite period of time? Looking for ideas on preventing rust and corrosion and a good storage containter. What do you think about large PVC tubing (if I can find it big enough for a rifle)? I've heard you can store in PVC for a long time if you heat things up first to drive out the water and then seal it up. Should I also put some cort of water absorbing chemical in there? Has anyone else done this with their firearms? What ammo companies have good ammo for long term storage?

ds1973, I've seen some containers at gun shows that would hold an AR15 if the stock is removed. They're military surplus containers for, I believe, howitzer ammo. Not having been in the military, much less the artillery units, I can't tell you exactly. But they're watertight, have screw on lids with o-ring seals, and would do the trick. The guy selling 'em charges about $30 each.

But it's a lot more fun to do some work for pro-gun candidates, and then go shooting, than it is to think about the guns you've had to bury somewhere.

I should qualify the last sentence of my previous post by saying that it wasn't directed at ds1973 or anybody else on this forum. Obviously, we're all involved politically.

Hey thanks for the info guys... Monkeyleg, no offence taken. I agree with that statement. Both of my representatives here in NY are already pro-gun but they really get outnumbered sometimes by the New York City liberals! Kalifornia and New York are the front lines these days.

ds1973;

This is a Canadian site, I guess they have a lot more experience.
www.akula.com/~tooch/resist/linehm.html

I found it by typing Guns AND Storage in a search engine. Interestingly enough, it was in the top 10. The first 7 were related to locks and safes, as were the next few pages.
It may move up to number one soon the way things are going.
